George International Study Abroad Scholarship

Made possible by the generosity of William W. "Bill" (IE '64) & Penny George.  Mr. George, the former President and CEO of Medtronic, recognizes the importance of education abroad stating, "It's important that all Georgia Tech graduates become global citizens, and understand how business, commerce, engineering, and science work around the globe."

Students can apply online and are not required to have selected a program at the time of application. If selected, a study abroad advisor will help you to select an eligible program. World Student Fund

The World Student Fund (WSF) began, after WWII, in 1948 with the purpose of improving post-war, German-American relations through education, and was one of the earliest international exchange programs at Georgia Tech. The WSF quickly grew to encompass exchange students from all over the world and has helped close to 1,000 students study abroad. In the early days, the money for the scholarships was raised by passing a hat, twice a year, during Georgia Tech football games for donations. The scholarship program continues today as a result of the generosity of former WSF Scholars and the World Student Fund Exchange Club is still a very active organization on campus today.
