Credits
Information on Credit for Students Participating in GT Group Programs: The courses offered as part of GT Group Programs are regular GT classes just like other courses offered at GT. Grades earned in these courses are shown on a participant's GT transcript and are calculated as part of the GT GPA. The academic unit responsible for organizing a GT study abroad program determines which courses will be offered. Click here for a list of programs so you can find out which kind of course work is available.
Information on Credit for Students Participating in GT Exchange and Study/Work Abroad Programs: Students who are going to study at a foreign university through a Georgia Tech Exchange or Study/Work Abroad program should complete a Foreign Credit Approval Form (FCA). Click here for information on completing the Foreign Credit Approval Form. Some courses from certain exchange partners have standing approval on the Registrar's Equivalency Table (ET) on OSCAR. If you plan to take a course that is on the ET, no FCA is needed for that course. If a course you'd like to take is not on the ET, you are still welcome to take that course, but you must fill out an FCA for it. More information about credit approval will be provided at Exchange and Study/Work Abroad Orientation.
Information on Credit for Students Participating in Non-GT Programs Abroad: Students who are going to apply to participate on study abroad programs through universities not affiliated with GT should download the NON-GT Program Packet, and complete a Non-GT Foreign Credit Approval Form. All forms must be submitted to OIE and approved prior to departure in order to receive transfer credit for courses completed on any NON-GT Program.
