Around Campus

Links Program

Join the Links Program and be matched with an International Student! The Links Program assists the Office of International Education with welcoming new international students to our campus and community. It is a volunteer program that offers global connections for students to learn from one another, develop leadership, and discover various on-campus resources. New International students are matched with US students participating in the International Plan program at Georgia Tech. Students are matched based on academic discipline, language group or country of origin/country where studying abroad.

International Education Week

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

For 2009, International Education will take place on November 16th through November 21st.

Culture Fest

All Georgia Tech Student Organizations and Associations are invited to participate in Culture Fest, a special week of events every March, giving students the opportunity to represent and showcase their home country through an International Food Fair and Performance Night. All members of the Georgia Tech community are invited to attend. More details will be announced in January.

Tutoring at the International Community School

Every Wednesday at 3pm, a group of International and American students tutor children at the International Community School (ICS) located in Avondale Estates (near Decatur). What’s so special about ICS? About half of the children are from refugee or immigrant families! This is a great opportunity to aid children in various areas of academic difficulty while building relationships with children from different cultures and with other Georgia Tech students.
